Volunteer to help drive 2008 topics and events

The Washington Technology Industry Association and its supporters have banded together to develop a new, volunteer-driven method for planning and executing events for 2008 and beyond.

A group of initial volunteers assembled in November '07 to kick-off this initiative, currently known as the Washington Technology Industry Association Programs Committee, and in the time since a slate of committee officers has been appointed.  (See the list at the bottom of this post).  The bylaws of the group are currently being drafted, and planning for 2008 events is under way.

The first event committee has been formed around the topic of “Mobility.”  The event is scheduled for March 27.  The committee is actively seeking volunteers to help with content, speakers, sponsors, marketing, logistics, and more.  If you are interested in jumping in, please contact the committee Co-Chairs George Sarhanis (alias: George) and/or Kristina Hudson (alias: KristinaH)

There is another event committee forming around the Web 2.0 topic.  Contact committee Chair Ed Kimm (alias: edkimm) if you want to join that committee.

Please feel free to make postings to this forum about your ideas for event topics, formats, speakers, and more.  More importantly, if you are interested in volunteering please be post your interest on this forum, or get in touch with the event leaders as they are identified, or myself John Raffetto (alias: John Raffetto).
