The Department of Labor’s (DOL) Employment and Training Administration has partnered with the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) to conduct national focus groups to create a competency model for the information technology industry. Your region has been selected as one of the top united states technology hubs and ITAA has partnered with the Washington Technology Industry Association and National Workforce Center for Emerging Technologies to:
· Recognize the expertise of your region,
· Gather best practices; and,
· Highlight the skills the IT workforce must have to compete in our global economy.
About ETA:
The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) has been working with business leaders to create comprehensive documentation of the skills and competencies required in a variety of high growth, high demand industries. These competency model frameworks assist businesses, educators, and workforce professionals in developing education and training programs that effectively address core competencies. The overarching goal of this work is to advance understanding of the skill sets and competencies that are essential to educate and train a globally competitive workforce.
