Tech in Focus: Trends in Cybersecurity

Join us on January 12th for a panel discussion focusing on how cyber criminals are pushing government and industry to innovate. The panel of cybersecurity experts will also offer tips and tricks on how companies can protect themselves from cyber attack and what to do if it happens to them. Panelists include Steve Tabacek, co-founder and CEO of RiskLens, John Farley, Vice President and Cyber Risk Practice Leader of HUB International, and Timothy Wallach, leader of the Cyber Task Force at the Seattle Office of the FBI. Our moderator for this event will be Adam Cecchetti, founding partner and Chief Executive Officer of Deja vu Security.
Adam Cecchetti is a founding partner and Chief Executive Officer at Deja vu Security. He is dedicated to the leadership and relentless innovation in Deja’s products and services. Previously he has lead teams conducting application and hardware penetration tests for the Fortune 500 technology firms. Adam is a contributing author to multiple security books, benchmarks, tools, patents, and DARPA research projects. Adam holds a degree in Computer Science and a Masters from Carnegie Mellon University in Information Networking.
Steve Tabacek is co-founder and CEO of RiskLens and is focused on building a highly-skilled team capable of delivering exceptional cybersecurity software and risk management services. Steve is the founder and former CEO of IT-Lifeline. Under his leadership, IT-Lifeline grew from a single service outsourced data backup service provider to one of the largest full-service business recovery centers in the Northwest supporting 100+ corporate customers primarily in the finance and healthcare sectors. IT-Lifeline was sold to Rentsys Recovery Services. Prior to IT-Lifeline, Steve had 20+ years managerial and technical experience within the government and financial services sectors. Steve’s education includes an Electronic Cryptographic Systems Technology degree from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology, as well as a BA Business Administration from Eastern Washington University.
Timothy Wallach an FBI Supervisory Special Agent who leads the Cyber Task Force in the Seattle Field Office of the FBI. In this capacity he manages and oversees the FBI’s Cyber Crime program in the State of Washington. In addition to his responsibilities of leading the Cyber Task Force, in 2014 Mr. Wallach was one of the principal architects of the FBI’s Cyber-National Security investigative model and served as its national Program Manager. Prior to his assignment in Seattle, Mr. Wallach was the FBI’s Legal Attaché in The Hague where he was responsible for all FBI matters in the Netherlands. Mr. Wallach has been an FBI Special Agent since 1996 and has held previous assignments in the San Diego and Washington, DC Field Offices, the FBI Legal Attaché Office in Switzerland and FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC. Mr. Wallach holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
John Farley is the Vice President and Cyber Risk Practice Leader for HUB International, where he provides advisory services to clients and serves as a network security and privacy liability consultant. Based in New York City, Farley is a licensed insurance broker and holds the Associate in Claims (AIC) designation. He brings 23 years of risk consulting experience to Hub and has over two decades of professional experience in the insurance and risk management industry.
Before joining Hub, Farley served as a senior risk management consultant at Wells Fargo Insurance Services, where he assisted clients with risk identification and mitigation. Before that, he was a risk management consultant at Marsh, and a national account claims examiner at Travelers.
