Executive Team
Susan Sigl, President and CEO
Prior to WTIA, Susan was the co-founder and a General Partner of SeaPoint Ventures, a Seattle based venture capital firm investing in communications companies in the wireless, broadband and network transactional infrastructure sectors. In her role as a General Partner Susan has evaluated, invested in, directed and raised capital for many early stage technology companies. She raised institutional capital for two venture funds and managed the firm’s investor relations. As part of SeaPoint’s wireless start-up company launch initiatives, Susan served as the Interim Chief Financial Officer of SNAPin Software (acquired by Nuance Communications), Zumobi, Inc. and Ground Truth, Inc.
Susan began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Houston, Texas and subsequently spent 18 years in financial and operational executive positions in privately held, entrepreneurial companies in the oil & gas and commercial real estate development industries in Houston and Seattle prior to founding SeaPoint in 1997. She was one of the first employees of Tathum Pipeline Co. and served as its Treasurer through a $200 million acquisition by Texas Oil & Gas Corp. An event she claims set the bar for entrepreneurial pursuits early in her career. From Texas Susan moved to Seattle and co-founded DGS Development Corp. which developed multi-family housing and commercial business properties in prime Seattle locales.
Susan has been actively involved in Northwest organizations. She was the Board Chair of the Seattle South District YMCA, a past President of the Evergreen Venture Capital Association, an originating Board member for the Northwest Chapter of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and a Board Director of Northwest Entrepreneur Network. Susan has been a mentor in the University of Washington’s MBA Mentor Program as well as a UW visiting MBA faculty member, and an Advisory Board member of Seattle University’s Entrepreneurship Center.
She also serves as an advisor to Ivy Corp., a privately held, early stage Seattle start-up in the wireless sector. Susan was listed on the 100 Top Women in Seattle Tech by TechFlash in July 2009.
Susan received both her BA and MBA from the University of Washington.
