Tableau Software built a successful business selling software to help people understand their data through visual analytics. They made data analytics accessible enough that anyone could build interactive visuals. Now Tableau wants to bring that simplicity to the Web, and is evolving their software into a new Web service. We'll learn how they identified the target market, created a scalable C++, Java, and Ruby software stack (reusing as much as practical), evaluated and chose hosting, and tested the performance by embedding visualizations on high-profile public blogs. Join us to hear Andrew Beers' firsthand experiences evolving and releasing Tableau Software's software-as-a-service product. |
