F5 Networks

1/28/2010
5:30pm to 7:30pm

Pragmatic Project Principles:
• How to gain alignment of values among the project stakeholders
• How to inspire and motivate teams that live in different geographical areas
• The best way to resolve conflicts in large projects
• How to design an effective project culture
• Meaningful insights into effective project measurement techniques that apply to all contributors

Speaker:
Joe Reifel helps project leaders and contributors reach their desired potential.  He has been in the software industry since 1990, and has delivered over 70 software and hardware projects in his career, personally managing over 50 of them.  Joe has developed an intuitive sense of project health by listening to the language that the project contributors are using.  He believes that values alignment and a common project culture are instrumental to having dynamic, self-managed organizations that do all of the heavy lifting for a project without micro-managing, a concept which becomes essential as a project gets larger and geographically diverse.

Joe serves in Program Management at F5 Networks, where he lives what he teaches.  He manages Product Development’s product portfolio, and serves as Project Owner on key projects.

F5 Networks helps organizations create an agile IT infrastructure that aligns with their demands.  It does this by providing strategic points of control throughout the IT infrastructure, enabling organizations to scale, adapt, and align with changing business demands and drive business forward on a solid foundation of IT agility.  In Joe’s words:  F5 Networks makes intelligent networking equipment that makes your IT staff smile.
