John is co-founder and executive editor of TechFlash. He has been covering the technology beat for nearly a decade, writing about startups, entrepreneurs and venture capital, most recently serving as a reporter/blogger at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. In 2000, he launched the P-I’s Venture Capital Notebook — an online resource for those in the startup and venture capital communities. Since 1998, Cook has covered hundreds of entrepreneurial ventures — from Avenue A to Zillow.com. Before joining the P-I in 1999, he covered business and technology for the Eastside Journal in Bellevue. A native of Wooster, Ohio, Cook started his journalism career in high school compiling obituary and election information for The Akron Beacon Journal. He graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in history, earning Phi Beta Kappa recognition and Academic All-American honors in soccer. Cook’s interests include backpacking, bicycling, running and watching English Premier League soccer. He lives in Seattle with his wife Holly and dog Henry.

William K. (Bill) Bryant has had early and instrumental involvement in over twenty leading software, Internet, digital media and mobile companies, as a founder, senior executive, investor and Board Member. Startups where he was a member of the founding team include Visio Corporation (founding VP of Sales & Marketing); Netbot (the creators of Jango, the first comparison shopping agent for the Internet, as well as the first metasearch engine, Metcrawler) where he was President; Qpass (now part of Amdocs) where he served as CEO and later Chairman; and Medio Systems (the leader in mobile search), which he continues as a Strategic Advisor. In these founding capacities, Bill drove definition of the core product and market strategy; raised >$125M in venture capital; recruited senior management teams; and built customer, partner and channel relationships in launching over 40 products. He is currently a Venture Partner with the leading Silicon Valley venture firm, Draper Fisher Jurvetson (www.dfj.com), where he's led two recent investments in Mpire Networks and Opscode. Bill is a founding investor in Delve, mInfo and Liquid Planner; led Atlas Ventures original investment in Isilon Systems; and is an ongoing, active advisor to Cascadia Capital, ACL, Socrata, Limeade, Winshuttle, Sensors in Motion and Swype. Bill was an early investor or Board member in ten companies that were later acquired or went public, including Loudeye, AEI Music, Viafone, Teamplate, Exstatic Software, Throw, Singing Fish, HandsOn, WebRelevance and Shelfari. Earlier in his career, Bill consulted extensively to Microsoft Corporation, Real Networks, Getty Images, and Corbis.

Andy Sack, Independent Software Entrepreneur and Investor

Andy Sack has over 15 years experience running and investing in high tech businesses, most recently as co-founder and CEO of Judy's Book, a local search social network. Prior to founding Judy's Book in 2004, Andy co-founded three successful Internet technology companies: Kefta (acquired in 2007 by Axciom), a leading provider of real time customer interaction solutions; Abuzz, (acquired by New York Times Digital in 1999), an enterprises knowledge management solution named number one in the Internet software category by Red Herring Magazine and the top company to work for by Boston Magazine; and Firefly Network, an Internet company that pioneered internet personalization technologies (acquired by Microsoft). Andy also spent time as an entrepreneur in residence for SOFTBANK Venture Capital (now Mobius VC) where he founded and served on the Andy currently serves on the board of and advises a number of companies including: zango, Cooler Planet, and Orange Line Media. Andy was also a founder and board member of Students for Responsible Business, and is a regular lecturer at the University of Washington Business School. Andy received his undergraduate degree from Brown University in 1990, and his MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Andy lives in Laurelhurst with his wife and two children.

He was the founder of Imagekind, the largest market for buying and selling art, which was acquired by CafePress in 2007. In 2000, he founded an online video company called RocketVox which was acquired by thePlatform (part of Comcast). Most recently he founded Inkd - an online marketplace for buying and selling graphic design. Before founding Inkd, Kelly served as VP of Product Marketing for Myrio (Nokia Siemens), and worked at RealNetworks from 1994 to 1999 in various marketing and business development roles. Curious Office has invested in SEOmoz, Imagekind, Wishpot, CoolSpotters, Shelfari (acquired by Amazon) and FeedDigest.
