The tech sector in Washington accounts for 22% of the state economy and ranks first…

Advocating on Behalf of the Technology Industry
Part of the mission for the WTIA is to advocate on behalf of the technology industry. This year the WTIA spent a great time of time in Olympia meeting with legislators and the executive branch. We successfully agitated in opposition of over-reaching privacy policies that would have inhibited innovation. We championed new state supported crowd funding initiatives. We rattled the cages on the limitations on ride-sharing proposals done by the Seattle City Council. And we pushed (unsuccessfully) for an extension of the R&D tax credit and B&O deferrals that demonstrate that the state understands the value of R&D to our economy (most don’t). From all of this work it is clear that we need to build a louder and stronger voice in order to influence policies at all levels of government. To this end we want to continue to build the WTIA PAC and really champion the legislators who go out of their way to foster the economic engine that IT is to this state.
Please join us at one of the political fundraisers that we are holding for legislative supporters of IT in Washington state.
It is important.
