HB 1472, http://apps.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/summary.aspx?bill=1472, the bill that enhances AP Computer Science and sets up a Computer Science task force is being held up in the Senate K-12 Committee by Chairman Steve Litzow, http://www.leg.wa.gov/senate/senators/Pages/litzow.aspx.

This bill had a good public hearing and has strong bipartisan support in the House and Senate. 

Sen. Litzow is holding up voting on HB 1472 for another bill in the House Education Committee that is unrelated.  This is the normal political horse trading that goes on but there is a risk that HB 1472 could die if it is not brought up for a vote by Wednesday.

The best thing to do now is email Sen. Litzow, steve.litzow@leg.wa.gov, and ask him to bring HB 1472 up for a vote without delay or conditions.  Please do this today so he gets the message.
