Applications for this fall’s First Look Forum now being accepted

microphone-and-crowd-e12639204361031We’re excited to announce this year’s fall First Look Forum™ will take place on Tuesday, November 18th from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at The Bellingham Golf and Country Club. First Look Forum is our signature, invite-only investor showcase event featuring the top never-before-seen, early-stage startups from every segment of innovation in the Pacific Northwest. The winner of the event will take home a $10,000 grand prize to help accelerate their idea. We are looking for qualified entrepreneurs from any industry, anywhere in Washington who have not received previous outside capital investment, or pitched publicly, to apply online by Saturday, October 18, 2014. Ideal applicants bring to the table a compelling idea, strong team, willingness to engage in coaching sessions, and can present a clear case for potential future growth. Applicants do not need to have a technology company to apply. This is the first time we’ll be holding a First Look Forum in Bellingham. “Washington is a hot bed of startups and one of the densest communities in the world. Bringing First Look Forum to Bellingham ensures talented entrepreneurs from across our state have better access to this superb learning experience,” said Michael Schutzler, WTIA’s CEO. “We are thrilled to partner with the team at NW Innovation Resource Center to co-host this program in Bellingham.” First Look Forum is critical to our mission to mobilize industry, education, and government to make our region the leading technology community in the world. Local entrepreneur applicants that are selected to participate will receive hands-on coaching from investors and successful entrepreneurs to get their pitch ready. Finalists are invited to present their business plans to active early stage investors and a panel of the area’s top venture capitalists — representing over 20 angel, venture, and investment firms. The afternoon includes challenging feedback, constructive coaching, professional networking — and for the very best presenters, an opportunity to vie for the $10,000 grand prize.
