When did you pitch at First Look Forum? Fall 2014 (Overall winner out of 60 applicants!)

How has your business grown (financially & otherwise) since you presented at First Look Forum?   Raised convertible note.   Opened a new office.   Was able to secure our technical talent, hire a sales and marketing team, and received great publicity; including a feature article in GeekWire.

What is the most valuable lesson you learned from participating in First Look Forum? Learning how to capture an audience with our story.  We previously gave engineering focused lectures that didn’t generate too much buzz.

What advice would you give to future First Look Forum applicants? Work with your mentors to refine your pitch deck, practice, practice, practice – it is time well invested.

    Matt Rose is the Co-founder and CEO of Kirkland Analytics, a clean tech startup that sells automated, front-line water management solutions for buildings within the commercial and industrial space. With analytics at its core, Kirkland’s technology is saving a Fortune 50 retail corporation more than 20% on water use across an entire region. Rose’s background spans product development and process automation for wastewater treatment systems, executive level technology consulting, and as COO of a diagnostic imaging services company overseeing technology development and administration. Matt holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a MPA from Harvard.
