Membership Monday | WTIA’s New and Renewing Members

The WTIA member community is a diverse one, to say the least! And we want to highlight some of the fun and interesting facts about our new and renewing members in this weekly series. We hope you take this opportunity to get to know your fellow WTIA members and peek behind the curtains of their (sometimes) wacky spaces.

This week’s feature company is CareerpathsNW! Here are Tim’s responses on behalf of his company:

What is your role at your company?

Tim: Owner/Partner

What is your company known for?

Tim: Doing the right thing regardless of the consequence and never taking short cuts

What do you hope to gain from your membership with WTIA?

Tim: I would like to become the go-to recruiter for the Seattle tech industry

What’s your favorite part about working in your city?

Tim: The causal dress code

What new technological advancement interests you the most and why?

Tim: Probably the ability to use light for propulsion. Going to Mars in 5 days is very cool, but shortening flight times here on Earth is even cooler!

What’s one unique aspect of your company’s culture?

Tim: Everyone here feels equal. We do not have a culture of hierarchy and although everyone is commissioned, they still help each other out as needed.

What’s a goal for your company this year?

Tim: We will double our staff size and revenues!

What’s been your favorite experience with WTIA so far?

Tim: I like working with Nick Ellingson. He has always been very on point and a great referral source!

If you were to explain your company to a room full of 6th graders, how would you go about doing so?

Tim: I would speak in terms they can relate to. I would let them know that if they were the leader of a Call of Duty clan and wanted to upgrade their talent or fill an empty slot, that they could hire us to scout other clans and recruit their top players… except that we do this for companies.

What’s your favorite work perk?

Tim: Probably Nate Salmons “dad jokes”

What TV show’s office most resembles your workplace dynamic?

Tim: The Office (U.S.)

What was your result from the Tech Animal Quiz?

Tim: Mantis Shrimp

In your opinion, what’s the best thing we’ve probably never heard about in your city?

Tim: I think its the diverse terrains. We are no further than 3 hours from a big city, a rain forest, a desert, mountains and farm land!

Is there a unique story behind your company name or logo?

Tim: Not really. I will say that several different graphic designers have recommended removing the compass. We refuse. We believe the job market is a tough place to navigate (from both sides) and that we are like a compass :)

Thank you to everyone who participated! We will be posting the rest of the winners each week the rest of this month.
