Membership Monday | WTIA’s New and Renewing Members
The WTIA member community is a diverse one, to say the least! And we want to highlight some of the fun and interesting facts about our new and renewing members in this weekly series. We hope you take this opportunity to get to know your fellow WTIA members and peek behind the curtains of their (sometimes) wacky spaces.
This week’s feature company is DVS Ventures LLC (including Deja vu Security and Peach Fuzzer)! Here are Mike’s responses on behalf of his company:
What is your role at your company?
Mike: Office Manager
What is your company known for?
Mike: Computer security. Some of the best and brightest minds work long days to help increase computer security for organizations, and create software products that discover unknown vulnerabilities in software and hardware.
What do you hope to gain from your membership with WTIA?
Mike: We’re glad to be networked to the tech heart of the city.
What’s your favorite part about working in your city?
Mike: Abundance of good coffee. Also the view(s).
What new technological advancement interests you the most and why?
Mike: Improved understanding of astrophysics and quantum physics: I think it will shed more light not only on our place in the Universe, but open doors to yet unthought of technologies.
What’s one unique aspect of your company’s culture?
Mike: We work hard, but we lunch together often at different levels: as an office, as teams, even as 1-to-1s. It helps us know each other better.
What’s a goal for your company this year?
Mike: Increased adoption of our flagship Peach Fuzzer product.
Which WTIA event has been your favorite to attend? Why?
Mike: As a company, the panel(s) – it offers us an opportunity to speak about and learn more about the kinds of things that affect us as an organization. As an individual, I haven’t made it to a WTIA event yet… but this will change soon.
If you were to explain your company to a room full of 6th graders, how would you go about doing so?
Mike: We help other companies secure their computer products so that hackers can’t exploit them.
What’s your favorite work perk?
Mike: Coffee + tunes + work. Also the occasional free continuing education workshops.
What TV show’s office most resembles your workplace dynamic?
Mike: Silicon Valley
What was your result from the Tech Animal Quiz?
Mike: Sea Otter – I’d always thought I’d be a dolphin, that seems close enough :)
In your opinion, what’s the best thing we’ve probably never heard about in your city?
Mike: HONK! Fest West, a free multi-day festival of street bands that happens every year.
Is there a unique story behind your company name or logo?
Mike: Yes! Deja vu Security’s cat logo was inspired by the movie The Matrix.
Thank you to everyone who participated! We will be posting the rest of the winners each week the rest of this month.
