Membership Monday | WTIA’s New and Renewing Members

The WTIA member community is a diverse one, to say the least! And we want to highlight some of the fun and interesting facts about our new and renewing members in this weekly series. We hope you take this opportunity to get to know your fellow WTIA members and peek behind the curtains of their (sometimes) wacky spaces.

This week’s feature company is DigiPen Institute of Technology! Here are Angela’s responses on behalf of her company:

What is your role at your company?

Angela: I oversee DigiPen’s enrollment, student experience, and brand across 3 continents.

What is your company known for?

Angela: Educating the next generation of innovators; we’re also ranked as one of the top 5 best colleges for game design per the Princeton Review.

What do you hope to gain from your membership with WTIA?

Angela: Greater connection with local companies, and greater visibility among tech companies in Washington.

What’s your favorite part about working in your city?

Angela: Free parking, easy access to bike trails/parks, close to restaurants and greenspace.

What new technological advancement interests you the most and why?

Angela: Virtual Reality is probably the hottest tech for most of our students and teachers right now.

What’s one unique aspect of your company’s culture?

Angela: We constantly seek continuous improvement!

What’s a goal for your company this year?

Angela: Becoming a household name.

What’s been your favorite experience with the WTIA so far?

Angela: The staff have been so responsive and helpful!

If you were to explain your company to a room full of 6th graders, how would you go about doing so?

Angela: We are teaching the next generation of technology and game developers.

What’s your favorite work perk?

Angela: Free beverages

What TV show’s office most resembles your workplace dynamic?

Angela: Silicon Valley

What was your result from the Tech Animal Quiz?

Angela: Mantis Shrimp- absolutely!

In your opinion, what’s the best thing we’ve probably never heard about in your city?

Angela: Redmond is one of the most livable cities on the Eastside and they named August 25th as “DigiPen Day” in the City of Redmond to recognize our influence on the City.

Is there a unique story behind your company name or logo?

Angela: It is a combination of Digital + Pencil, as we started out as a 3D animation production company.
