Membership Monday | WTIA’s New and Renewing Members

The WTIA member community is a diverse one, to say the least! And we want to highlight some of the fun and interesting facts about our new and renewing members in this weekly series. We hope you take this opportunity to get to know your fellow WTIA members and peek behind the curtains of their (sometimes) wacky spaces.

This week’s feature company is Waypoint Ventures LLC! Here are Samantha’s responses on behalf of her company:

What is your role at your company?

Samantha: Chief early-adopter, experimenter, “can I have it” Officer

What is your company known for?

Samantha: Leveraging our diverse experience in learning and education platforms to assemble the right team and right design for our clients.

What do you hope to gain from your membership with WTIA?

Samantha: We want to learn more about peers in our industry and opportunities for collaboration.

What’s your favorite part about working in Seattle?

Samantha: Since our local team mainly works from home, we make a point of meeting each other in Seattle’s different neighborhoods for work and play. There’s no limit to exploring this city even after decades here.

What new technological advancement interests you the most and why?

Samantha: Examples of artificial intelligence applied to accessibility are the most remarkable and innovative advancements. Using technology to offer access for everyone to education, employment, and enjoyment is inspiring.

What’s one unique aspect of your company’s culture?

Samantha: Decisions come from consensus among the partners. We strive for an atmosphere that has room for all ideas. Even when you agree to disagree, you’ve been listened to.

What’s a goal for your company this year?

Samantha: Successfully navigating all of the aspects of our hiring plan, bringing on 4 – 6 employees.

What’s been your favorite experience with the WTIA so far?

Samantha: We just joined, but we’ve enjoyed two events in as many weeks, and we’re thrilled to discover everything WTIA has to offer. This feels like a terrific fit so far.

Which WTIA event has been your favorite to attend? Why?

Samantha: Between the Happy Hour and the HR session, probably the HR session. It was timely, and it validated our thoughts around performance management.

If you were to explain your company to a room full of 6th graders, how would you go about doing so?

Samantha: We make books, videos, and cartoons to teach people how to use software they need for work. Sometimes, we set up a classroom so that people can practice what they are learning. People all over the world can see our classes in their own language, too. And it also works for people who have sight and hearing disabilities.

What’s your favorite work perk?

Samantha: Taking conference calls from scenic locations because all I need to do my job is Wi-Fi.

What TV show’s office most resembles your workplace dynamic?

Samantha: Muppet Show or Golden Girls

What was your result from the Tech Animal Quiz?

Samantha: Mantis Shrimp

In your opinion, what’s the best thing we’ve probably never heard about in your city?

Samantha: There’s a terrific picnic spot in Shilshole Bay called Margarita Beach. It is a beach that is only exposed at low-tide, and it is only accessible by boat.

Is there a unique story behind your company name or logo?

Samantha: Yes.

Thank you to everyone who participated! We will be posting the responses from the rest of our winners each Monday for the rest of the month!
