Membership Monday | WTIA’s New and Renewing Members
The WTIA member community is a diverse one, to say the least! And we want to highlight some of the fun and interesting facts about our new and renewing members in this weekly series. We hope you take this opportunity to get to know your fellow WTIA members and peek behind the curtains of their (sometimes) wacky spaces.
This week’s feature company is DomainTools! Here are Karen’s responses on behalf of her company:
What is your role at your company?
Karen: Facilities and HR Specialist
What is your company known for?
Karen: We are the largest providers of who owns what on the internet.
What do you hope to gain from your membership with WTIA?
Karen: Connection to the wider local technology community.
What’s your favorite part about working in Seattle?
Karen: The energy, the creativity, the ingenuity of the the tech community and of course, the weather.
What new technological advancement interests you the most and why?
Karen: Democratization of space travel.
What’s one unique aspect of your company’s culture?
Karen: Company trip to Whistler every year.
What’s a goal for your company this year?
Karen: To promote and evangelize DomainTools as a major cybersecurity player.
What’s been your favorite experience with the WTIA so far?
Karen: Being a coach for Training Day for new hires.
Which WTIA event has been your favorite to attend? Why?
Karen: Training Day, meeting other members.
If you were to explain your company to a room full of 6th graders, how would you go about doing so?
Karen: We fight the badness on the internet.
What’s your favorite work perk?
Karen: Artisan chocolate.
What TV show’s office most resembles your workplace dynamic?
Karen: Community.
What was your result from the Tech Animal Quiz?

In your opinion, what’s the best thing we’ve probably never heard about in your city?
Karen: Shadowland Pub Quiz.
Is there a unique story behind your company name or logo?
Karen: We named our company to clearly describe what we do.
