Membership Monday | WTIA’s New and Renewing Members
The WTIA member community is a diverse one, to say the least! And we want to highlight some of the fun and interesting facts about our new and renewing members in this weekly series. We hope you take this opportunity to get to know your fellow WTIA members and peek behind the curtains of their (sometimes) wacky spaces.
This week’s feature company is Ciber Inc! Here are Geoff’s responses on behalf of his company:
What is your role at your company?
Geoff: I am responsible for community outreach, marketing.
What is your company known for?
Geoff: Quality, cost-effective IT project work, and professional services.
What do you hope to gain from your membership with WTIA?
Geoff: Greater exposure to the local IT and business communities.
What’s your favorite part about working in Seattle?
Geoff: The growth in the area is awe inspiring and something I am thrilled to be a part of.
What new technological advancement interests you the most and why?
Geoff: The convergence of Mobility, Cloud, Big Data and Social Media. The potential for positive change is immense (as is the potential of being left behind!).
What’s one unique aspect of your company’s culture?
Geoff: We bleed purple! The Ciber culture is a hybrid of buttoned-down professionalism and leading-edge vision. We are serious about providing our customers with a portal into the future, while providing them with measurable business value.
What’s a goal for your company this year?
Geoff: We want to be better known locally. Despite having hundreds of consultants working in the local market, I still meet too many people who are still unfamiliar with our capabilities. We’ve decided that it’s time to get the word out in 2016.
What’s been your favorite experience with the WTIA so far?
Geoff: Please ask me again in a year! :)
Which WTIA event has been your favorite to attend? Why?
Geoff: Please ask me again in a year! :)
If you were to explain your company to a room full of 6th graders, how would you go about doing so?
Geoff: Ciber is a “mama bear-sized” company. We’re big enough to scale – and small enough to care. (Are there any 6th grade members in WTIA? LOL!)
What’s your favorite work perk?
Geoff: A lot of us can frequently work remotely, which helps those of us with kids and the activities that come with them.
What TV show’s office most resembles your workplace dynamic?
Geoff: “Sherlock Holmes” sounds about right. We live to simplify complex business & technical challenges.
What was your result from the Tech Animal Quiz?
Geoff: I’m a Wolf (!). Sure, why not?!
In your opinion, what’s the best thing we’ve probably never heard about in your city?
Geoff: Sorry – Mum’s the word!
Is there a unique story behind your company name or logo?
Geoff: Two marketing experts walk into a bar…:)
Thank you to everyone who participated! We will be posting the responses from the rest of our winners each Monday for the rest of the month!
