New Year, New Events, and New Ways to Get Involved at WTIA

We’ve been busy getting ready for the year to come, and with the New Year, we’ll be offering lots of new member-exclusive events and community programs to our calendar. Take a peek, mark your calendars, and get ready for a great 2016 with WTIA!

We’ve received some great feedback from the folks we’ve worked with in the past year. It’s been particularly useful in helping us understand the types of programs they’d want to attend in 2016. Some of the new program series include “Keeping Small Businesses Health” Workshops and CxO Breakfasts.

Member-exclusive Programs

We love to engage with our member companies and their employees. We’ve got a ton of opportunities for you to connect, learn, and network in the coming year, including monthly happy hours, CEO roundtables, and other outings that are sure to be entertaining.

Not Sure if You’re a Member? If you’d like to join us for one of our member-exclusive events but aren’t sure if you’re a member, we can help. Simply click here to find out of your company is a WTIA member. If it is, you are! All employees of member companies are considered WTIA members.

Community Events

Aside from Member-only events, we have events open to the tech community at large. WTIA knows that there’s strength in numbers. That’s why our mission is to be the unifying voice of the Washington State tech community. How do we do that? We continually gather and facilitate the collaboration of top influencers from government, education, non-profit organizations, and the tech industry to support and promote Washington as the greatest tech hub in the world.

Because we want to ensure that you get the most out of these and future events, attendance is limited to  tech companies and organizations that help further WTIA mission. This includes WTIA members—both tech and non-tech member supporters—government employees, educators, and non-profit organizations.

If you’re a tech company but not yet a member, you may still attend a WTIA event. Not sure if your company is defined as “tech”? Check here for eligibility.  If you’re not a tech company and would like to attend WTIA events, please contact Nick Ellingson about joining WTIA.

We Need Event Volunteers!

We need WTIA members to assist us in brainstorming ideas  and organizing events for our Members-Only outings that will happen periodically throughout the year.

If you’re not a member and you’d like to help with set up and tear down at events, we welcome volunteers! Priority will be given to university and graduate students in STEM fields and employees at early-stage tech startups. If you’re interested, please email WTIA’s Events & Marketing Coordinator Lourdes Tsukada at ltsukada@washingtontechnology.org.

Last But Not Least

Along with our new and continuing programs and events, we’ve made some updates to our pricing structure. These changes will help us to better provide full access to our members and to offer affordable opportunities to the greater tech community who wish to participate in, learn about, and contribute to WTIA’s goal of creating the leading technology community in the world right here in Washington.
