Support a Champion of Higher Education October 11 at South Lake Union

The WTIA engages in political activity through WTIA’s Political Action Committee, TechPAC, https://www.washingtontechnology.org/advocacy/techpac.aspx

TechPAC is funded through voluntary contributions from individuals and companies.  You do not have to be a member of WTIA to contribute.  Contributions are made on a bipartisan basis to legislators and candidates who have demonstrated support for the key issues that the tech industry is concerned about.  One of those issues is supporting higher education, particularly higher production of Computer Science and Engineering degrees.

State Representative Larry Seaquist of Gig Harbor is the Chair of the House Higher Education Committee. http://www.leg.wa.gov/house/representatives/Pages/seaquist.aspx

His leadership in the 2012 legislative session resulted in stopping budget cuts to higher education and directed funding for computer science and engineering at the state’s universities.  Rep. Seaquist is holding a reception on Thursday, Oct. 11 at the South Lake Union Discovery Center.  See flyer below for details.

Please attend and contribute to Rep. Seaquist’s campaign so that we can have his leadership continue in Olympia on higher education.  Please also consider a contribution to TechPAC.  You can download a contribution form here:
