“Facebook debuted a new office building in Seattle with room for another 900 people today, less than two years after opening a new 2,000-person engineering center nearby — the latest sign of the massive growth by Silicon Valley tech giants in the city.
Facebook has been in Seattle for eight years, and in that time it has grown rapidly to employ 2,000 people here, making it one of the top tech players in the city. Workers started moving into the new office — a 150,000-square-foot building at 1101 Westlake Ave. N. — last month. Teams work on more than 100 different projects, including everything from Facebook Messenger to Marketplace to Games to the infrastructure that powers the entire operation.
After starting as a small outpost, Facebook’s Seattle office is now the company’s biggest engineering center outside of its Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters. In addition to engineers, the Seattle office also includes marketing, design and product management staff”

Outreach needs a new Seattle headquarters soon
Puget Sound Business Journal | Casey Coombs | March 26, 2018

“The fast-growing sales tech startup is looking for at least 60,000 square feet of space with options to expand within three months. Outreach has been on a hiring binge since raising $30 million in Series C funding last May. The company has added about 100 people at its Seattle and Bay Area offices, bringing overall headcount to about 250.
More than 190 of them work in Seattle, where Outreach expects to hire another 100 by the end of the year, Outreach Vice President of Marketing Katie Doyle said.
Now Outreach, which develops an automated workflow platform for salespeople to streamline the process and increase sales meetings, is aiming to find a new home within about three months.
“With our growth, we’re looking for at least 60,000 square feet with options to expand,” Doyle said, noting that the company wants to stay as close to its current office as possible to keep the commute consistent for staff.

“Smartsheet, a developer of collaborative software that allows users to track projects and manage corporate processes, said this week it is seeking to raise $100 million as part of a planned initial public offering.
Bellevue, WA-based Smartsheet’s revenues and headcount have risen sharply in recent years, though it continues to lose money on an annual basis, according to a prospectus the company filed with federal securities regulators.
Launched in 2005, Smartsheet has raised about $120 million in outside investment. The company’s backers include Madrona Venture Group, Sutter Hill Ventures, and Insight Venture Partners, which led Smartsheet’s $52.1 million Series F funding round a year ago. (The company received a post-money valuation of $852 million following the round, according to data from PitchBook.)”

Fifteen years after it was founded in Seattle, digital signature pioneer DocuSign on Wednesday registered to become a publicly traded company, joining a growing list of technology companies looking to start trading on Wall Street this year.
Revealing its financial data for the first time as part of the filing, DocuSign reported revenue of $381.5 million for the fiscal year ended Jan. 31, 2017, up 52 percent from the $250.5 million in revenue the year prior. For that same period, it showed a net loss of $115.4 million, down from a $122.6 million loss the year prior. The filing does not disclose financial results for the year ended January 2018.
With the IPO filing, DocuSign is poised to become the latest in a series of technology companies to go public in 2018; others that have filed registration papers or already started trading include cloud storage company Dropbox, music service Spotify, and Bellevue, Wash.-based work management tech company Smartsheet.
