It’s Raining Cash in Cloud City: Chef Raises $32M and Counting

“Chef has previously raised $63 million, including a $32 million round in 2013. It has been growing rapidly in the past several months as more and more companies move their systems to the cloud. Chef provides an open source cloud management software to help developers build automated systems to manage data stored in the cloud…The company relocated its headquarters to a 36,000-square-foot space in Pioneer Square to make room for its booming staff. Chef has more than 200 employees and plans to double that number this year.”

“Big Fish is getting bigger, and now it has an entire building to call home. The Seattle-based gaming company, which was acquired by Churchill Downs Inc. this past December, is taking over the fifth floor and will soon own the entire 333 Elliott Building along the Seattle waterfront. The Puget Sound Business Journal reported the expansion on Thursday, noting that Big Fish will add nearly 28,000 square feet of space in the 137,500 square-foot building.”
