Seattle Job Market Benefits as T-Mobile, AT&T Duke It out for Wireless Customers

“Wireless carrier competition is having a big, positive impact on Washington state’s job market. AT&T announced Wednesday it is hiring 165 people to work in its Bothell call center and retail stores in Washington state. The nation’s No. 1 provider of mobile phone service has openings for 95 call-center workers and 70 sales positions in the company’s 43 Washington retail stores, including its nearly 40 stores in the Seattle area.”

Seattle Mobile Payments Startup Remitly Plans Big Expansion, Doubles Office Space

“PebbleBee first took off with a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014 to launch its device that helps you keep track of anything from keys to a pet. But company co-founder Daniel Daoura said the business has already moved to the next level — and now it’s hunting for the funding to match….The company was founded in 2012 by Daoura and Nick Pearson-Franks, both former Boeing engineers. Today, it has 20 employees and plans to grow to between 25 and 30 within the next six months or so.”
