Lyft Hiring Seattle-based Engineers, Brings on Local City General Manager

“Lyft is the latest company looking to hire engineering talent in Seattle. The San Francisco-based ride-hailing company now has two job openings available for a DevOps engineer and a security engineer, both based in Seattle. When asked if the company is opening an engineering center in Seattle, a Lyft spokesperson would not comment, only saying that Lyft is looking for talent no matter the location. Update: Lyft noted that ‘our goal is to open and grow a Seattle office with local tech talent.’ “

That’s also where the Allen Institute for Cell Science, which Seattle billionaire Paul Allen recently pledged $100 million to create, will set up shop… Both the brain science and cell science centers are hiring aggressively. The Allen Institute for Brain Science is set to grow from about 300 employees to 480 in the next few years. The Allen Institute for Cell Science will hire about 20 people by the end of this year and is expected to grow to about 70 in the next three to four years.”

Companies can then compare, for example, how effective teams spend time compared to the average…’Over the coming months, you can expect to hear more from us about new capabilities we will be rolling out, new investments in our partner eco-system and more,’ VoloMetrix CEO Ryan Fuller wrote in a blog post about the sale. Fuller said the company had 20 employees last fall and planned to triple that within a year.”
