WTIA July Events Recap

The end of July was busy busy for the WTIA team as we hosted our 20th Annual Golf Tournament, WTIA Night at the Mariners and the second Tech Crawl of the summer in Fremont. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for all the fun these past two weeks!

Golf Tournament

On July 20th, 125 members of the tech community joined the WTIA and sponsors to play in the 20th Annual Golf Tournament at Glendale Country Club in Bellevue. The theme of the tournament was The Game of Golf; a take on the old board game, Game of LIFE. The scramble style tournament had foursomes not only shooting for the lowest golf score but the highest amount of LIFE money as well. Sponsors of the tournament joined in on the fun by decorating their holes with other classic games like Clue, Legos, Twister and more.

Golfers started the day with donuts from Top Pot and lunched at food trucks located throughout the course before gathering at the clubhouse for the cocktail reception. Prizes were given to winners of the putting, chipping and longest drive contests, the foursome with the best score and highest amount of LIFE dollars. Prizes from the Mariners, Delta Airlines and more were raffled off throughout the evening as well. Big thank you to GCC, our incredible sponsors, and all the golfers who played with us, already excited for next year!

WTIA Night at the Mariners

Before WTIA members got together to attend the Mariners/Diamondbacks game on Tuesday July 28th, a small group was invited to take a tour of CenturyLink Field, courtesy of one of our newest member companies, CenturyLink. The tour took attendees behind the scenes and on the field of the stadium, home to the Seattle Sounders and Seahawks. Thank you to our friends at CenturyLink and the Seattle Mariners organization for a great evening of Seattle sports!

Fremont Tech Crawl

The second Tech Crawl of the summer visited WTIA member companies Dinerware, Impinj and Geocaching in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. This past Thursday’s event was well attended by over 75 crawlers, who ate, drank, played games and networked with fellow members of the WTIA community. Thank you to our hosts for creating such a fun experience for those who attended, stay tuned for the last Tech Crawl of the summer coming up next month!
