MetaBrite raises another $3M to grow consumer purchasing data platform

“MetaBrite is raising more cash to bolster its receipt-scanning and business intelligence technology.
The Seattle startup just reeled in an additional $3 million from existing investors and Acorn Ventures. Total funding to date is now $16 million.
Docusign co-founder Court Lorenzini heads up MetaBrite as CEO. He originally raised nearly $5 million for CookBrite, which was the name of his company that built a one-stop mobile meal-planning solution, acting as a digital shopping list and recipe book.
But in November 2015, the startup changed its name to MetaBrite, expanding its focus toward a business intelligence platform.”

“Seattle ranks number one when it comes to the number of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) workers in the U.S., according to a study by WalletHub.com. The study, 2017’s Best & Worst Metro Areas for STEM Professionals, compared 100 metro areas in two categories: professional opportunities and STEM-friendly environment.
Seattle surpassed Silicon Valley for the first time this year. “Seattle currently has the most STEM job openings in the country, at almost 98 per 1,000 residents, and the second-highest STEM employment, at 12% of total employment,” said WalletHub analyst Jill Gonzalez.”
