More than a membership. A competitive advantage.
What is an Association Health Plan?
An Association Health Plan (AHP) lets small businesses band together through an association to purchase health coverage as a group. Instead of shopping for insurance alone, your company joins a collective with real buying power, gaining access to the same quality plans and negotiated rates that larger employers get.
WTIA serves as the plan sponsor for Washington's tech sector. By pooling member companies into one large group, we negotiate directly with major carriers for lower premiums, richer benefits, and more plan choices than what's available to small businesses buying on their own.
The result: your two-person startup or your 150-person company gets coverage that rivals what the biggest employers in the state offer.
Who qualifies for WTIA health benefits?
WTIA health benefits are available to technology companies in Washington state with two or more employees. Your company must be a current WTIA member in good standing.
Not a member yet? Joining WTIA gives you access to health benefits along with policy advocacy, talent programs, and the largest tech network in the state. Become a member to get started, or request a quote to see what plans and rates look like for your team.

3. We handle the rest
Once you're enrolled, WTIA oversees the administration of your benefits program. Our team works closely with your broker and our TPA to handle billing, eligibility changes, new hires, terminations, COBRA, and open enrollment. You stay focused on your business while we help keep everything aligned.
What you get as a member
No call centers, no ticket queues. You get a dedicated benefits contact who knows your plan, your company, and your questions before you have to repeat them. Whether you need to add a new hire, resolve a billing issue, or understand a plan detail, one person handles it. They're based in the Pacific Northwest and available by phone or email.
Billing, eligibility updates, employee enrollments, terminations, and COBRA compliance are managed on your behalf. When someone joins your team or leaves, we process the changes directly with the carrier so you don't have to learn a portal or chase paperwork. You get a single monthly invoice and clear reporting on your plan activity.
Your employees get direct access to support for claims questions, provider lookups, ID card requests, and coverage details. They talk to real people who can actually resolve issues, not an automated phone tree. This takes pressure off your HR team and gives employees confidence in their benefits.
We provide plan summary documents, benefit guides, and enrollment materials customized to your company. New hires get a clear picture of their options from day one without your team building the materials from scratch. Digital and print formats are available so you can match how your team communicates.
Each year, our team walks you through plan renewals, rate changes, and available options. We prepare employee communications, coordinate the enrollment timeline, and handle carrier submissions. You review and approve. We do the legwork.
Stay current on state and federal requirements without tracking regulatory changes yourself. We monitor ACA reporting obligations, non-discrimination rules, and filing deadlines, then flag what needs your attention. You get the guidance without needing to hire a compliance specialist.
